Recognition and Enforcement Law

With regard to the enforcement of the judgements rendered in the courts of another country in the Republic of Turkey, under the leadership of our founder Attorney Mehmet Rifat BACANLI, who is currently continuing his doctoral studies in the field of international private law, the necessary steps are taken and legal assistance is provided for the enforcement of the judgements rendered abroad in Turkey.

 

Recognition and enforcement process is necessary for the judgements obtained from foreign courts to be valid in Turkey. This process is carried out in accordance with international legal standards and means the integration of a foreign court judgement into the Turkish legal system.

 

Generally, this process is used for divorce, alimony, commercial disputes, inheritance cases or arbitration decisions to become valid in Turkey. Recognition means that the foreign court judgement is accepted as binding by the Turkish courts, while enforcement means that this judgement becomes enforceable by the Turkish courts.
