Attorney Mehmet Rifat Bacanlı is the founder of Bacanlı Law Office. He started his education at Private Arı College and then graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law. He completed his master's degree in Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law at Gazi University and continues his doctoral studies in the Private Law Department of the same university with the thesis subject of Mediation-Arbitration (Med-Arb).

Bacanlı, who has undertaken various duties in his professional life, served as the general secretary and board member of the Turkish Law Institute between 2007-2011. He is also a trademark and patent attorney. In 2015, he served as a founding board member of the Istanbul Arbitration Center (ISTAC) for about 5 years. In 2022, he continued to serve as the President of the Arbitration Center of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TBB).

 
He served as a member of the Audit Board of the Weightlifting Federation between 2007-2009 and as a member of the Disciplinary Board of the Billiard Federation between 2009-2011. Since 2010, he has served as the Vice President of Numune DSİ Volleyball Team, which competes in the Women's Professional Volleyball 2nd League. Bacanlı is currently serving as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Weightlifting Federation.
